Dover Downs History

Dover Downs racetrack started pari-mutuel betting and popular harness racing meets from 1969. This racetrack experienced the highest number of crowd – around six thousands - on February 4, 1973 and shuffled the record amount with $1,227,207 on January 30, 2001. Harness racing starts in the ground every year in November while ends in April. The signature event of Dover Down – Progress Pace began in 1996.
